Wilsons fame was surpassed by the U.S. in 2014, as she landed a part on Showtimes The Affair. In the show, she was Alison Lockhart who is a young troubled woman who comes from a rough background. Lockhart has a crush on a married Noah Solloway. Wilson received an award in the form of a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The show also starred Maura Terney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson stated in British Vogue: "I love the fact that I am able to play characters in two perspectives." Noah imagines Alison's confident and irresponsible sexy side. But she sees herself as a completely different person, one who on the outside is dull as well as in the shadows, not wanting to stand out. Wilson added: "I do believe America is morally and judging, so what happens in the show appears to be shocking." Wilson has left The Simpsons in 2018, was not forthcoming with details. In the CBS This Morning Interview in August of 2018, Wilson stated, "I did want to leave, but I'm not able to talk about the reasons for it." "The Little Stranger More recently Wilson is now focusing on film work. In 2016, she appeared in the film horror I Am the Pretty Thing The House That Lives In and in 2017 played the cryptic character PT Stella in the sci-fi romantic comedy How to Talk to Girls at Parties. To add more of the horror genre onto her credits, she's scheduled to appear in the British film version of The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller based on a novel by author Sarah Waters. Wilson is the executive producer of the film.
